With the insideITGS collaboration, we use many web 2.0 tools. Through these tools we can communicate with people from across the world. We can also share what we find and create. We can form our own creations and collaborate with other schools, to create one huge project. This project can expand, until it reaches all four corners of the globe. Thereby supporting global digital citizenship and building an online learning community.
Many people, nowadays use blogging instead of writing the old fashioned way, since it is convenient (in addition to saving paper) and can be displayed to many people at once. Wiki wiki means “quick” in Hawaiian. Wiki is widely used by schools like ours, to display and create profiles for our studies. Ning, can be used to post our video and reflections.
Blog:
It’s a personal concept of a diary, share photography and posting. Through discuss makes participants in some way or agreed on, usually the cooperative blog defined as allow anyone to participation, speech, discuss the problems blog diary. We can use blog share we post like e-books, and other people can give you advice. When people finish and blog post, they can write reflection and explain how to making and feeling. To supply a place of ITGS student to share and faster change information. You don’t transmit irrelevant information and don’t worry in addition the students outside the people see your post. The blog is only use to share post and information with teacher and students. It’s help use easy to share and learn ITGS.
Ning:
Ning is a social networking site but in our case we use this for educational. To have an online ITGS classes from Different schools we have AIS from Belgium, VIS from Austria and BISS and WAB were doing this first. On the ning we always write our blog post for the assignment, and also linking it to our product (final assignment).Even though this is like facebook we cant write what we want you can write what you want but it has to be educational related to our learning. This network is secure because teachers moderate membership. The ning is the doorway to the insideitgs community. It is here that we share thoughts and discuss issues and upload multimedia.
Wiki: Wiki is a website, which is one of the simplest ways to collaborate or share information, share ideas and pictures. You also can have a discussion through writing comments on the page and in a discussion area. Wiki is very similar to Wikipedia, however wiki can be for more personal uses. (For example collaborate wiki, class wiki, personal wiki and so on) There are many things to be attention at when you use wiki.
First, before you add something, you need to check your information is correct or it came from right sources. Since wiki has been worldwide website, you cannot put wrong information. Second, you have to be a good digital citizen. For example, you are not allowed to put information which had plagiarized, put wrong information on purpose, leave rude comments in the wiki and so on. Third, you need site your work and put references onto wiki. Forth, do not delete someone’s work without asking. If you notice there were wrong information or whatever, you need to ask author of the written work.
We have been using wiki for our collaborating assignments, and co-creating content. We also use which other people made to learn about ITGS. (Such as itgsopedia)
